It’s time to leap
SOMETHING exciting is brewing at Econet Telecom Lesotho.
For the past two months the company’s engineers have been installing a new state-of-the-art network whose capacity and capability is second to none in the country.
Millions have been invested in what senior company officials say will be a “totally new network that will take customer experience to a whole new level”.
Malefetsane Tlelima, Chief Technical Officer, says the network will deal with issues of slow data speeds, lack of connection, congestion and dropped calls.
“We are certain that the new network will go beyond just solving issues of congestion and slow speeds,” Tlelima says.
“It is important to note that this is not a routine upgrade but a total replacement of an old network.”
Tlelima says the new network will result in the best call setup, top quality voice call and faster browsing speeds.
“What we are saying is that we are building the best network in the country. We have always led the market in terms of telecommunications infrastructure but this time we are taking it to another level.”
The new network comes with an array of exciting and innovative features, all targeted at enhancing the subscriber experience.
Lebeko Sello, Econet’s acting Chief Commercial Officer, says the new network was designed to give customers a complete package that meets their expectations in terms of quality and affordability.
“We are not just promising better user experience but a complete transformation in the way our customers use our services to make their lives better,” Sello says.
“So apart from resolving the usual problems the new network will have dozens of features that customers will find crucial to their lives and businesses.”
Sello says the migration to the new network might cause some glitches like the one experienced last Wednesday.
“We are therefore humbly pleading with our valued customers to bear with us while we prepare for the seamless transfer to the new network,” says Sello.
The new network will be launched in the next few weeks and customers will be regularly informed of the progress, Sello adds.
